What exactly do you do at Signpost?
Yento: "Currently, I have been working as a Field Service Team Lead in Kortrijk for 3 months. Normally, I'm stationed at HQ in Lokeren, but it's great that I can strengthen the team in Kortrijk at this moment."
What does your day look like?
Yento: "I usually arrive in Kortrijk around 7:45 to avoid traffic. I find it super interesting and necessary to keep on learning. In the morning, I regularly attend online learning sessions. For example, I'm currently learning more about the order platform of one of our suppliers.
After that, I check the driver and technician planning, provide training to new colleagues, perform quality control on the repairs, or handle admin related to repairs.
My days are never the same and vary in tasks. The majority of my role revolves around supporting my team and colleagues and coordinating the Service Point in Kortrijk. I assist in diagnosing so that repairs can be planned or parts ordered promptly. I handle technical queries from the support mailbox and tackle various questions from schools and students.
In Kortrijk, we also have a desk for walk-ins. From time to time, I help the colleagues at the desk. It can get chaotic at times, but I try to make sure everyone feels good and offer a listening ear, not just professionally."
How did you end up working at Signpost?
Yento: "It's a funny story. I used to work at Bpost as a mailman. In the evening, I was following an course 'PC Technician.' Back then, I was in the same class as Brent, a colleague now at Signpost. Brent encouraged me to apply at Signpost. So here I am, and so far, I haven't regretted it. It's a fun and challenging job with no room for boredom. Dealing with many things at once, and the seasonal peaks can be super busy, but I'm solution-oriented and love my job."
What can people contact you for?
Yento: "Anything to do with the technical aspects, especially with regard to technicians: I am happy to help."
What are your interests besides work?
Yento: "Outside of work, I have a busy social life. I spend a lot of time with friends and family, enjoy going out to restaurants, and participate in wine tastings. I also try to fit in some running during the week. For me, it's all about socialising with friends and family. That is where I get my energy."
